But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows. ~ Luke 12:7
How concerned is God over your life? So much so that He’s made important something as insignificant as the number of hairs on your head. When you’re concerned with that level of detail about someone’s life, you might go so far as to say that they’re obsessed. Well, is God obsessed with you?
Of course, God’s intense love for you is not negative or harmful. His concern for your wellbeing is beyond your concern for another person. The best part about it is that He knows you for who you really are, and despite that, He loves you anyway!
How are you to respond to such love from your Heavenly Father? By not being fearful or anxious about your life. If you’re in search for significance, or personal value, then know that “you are of more value than many sparrows.”
How can you become overly depressed knowing that God places this much value on you? How can you allow insecurity and fear to control you when God thinks this highly of you? Things like fear, worry, insecurity, and depression control us because we spend more time meditating on them than we do verses like Luke 12:7.
Start spending more time thinking on the fact that God loves you more than many sparrows. Consider that He’s numbered every hair on your head and knows every detail about your life but still loves you with all of His heart. The end result will be that your fears and concerns will grow weaker as your confidence and assurance grow stronger.
